Excursion tip: Suspension bridge in the Hohe Schrecke

It is 180 meters long and hangs 25 meters above the Bärental: the suspension bridge in the largest nature reserve in Thuringia. If you want to visit this highlight - the bridge is made of steel and wood, it is stable and completely harmless, the best thing to do is walk the 3 kilometers from Braunsroda through the natural Hohe Schrecke nature reserve to the bridge.

The bridge is also the starting point of the Thuringian Primeval Forest Path, where you can hike and explore the forest wilderness of the Hohe Schrecke.
