The artists' workshops in the city of Erfurt want to create access to their new spaces for as many interested parties as possible. How this can be achieved will be developed in a joint workshop.

Ideas should be brought together

With the move to Nordhäuser Straße at the entrance to Nordpark, the artists' workshops in the city of Erfurt are more visible, accessible and usable than they were in their long history at their previous location. Workshops for ceramics, jewelry, textiles and enamel as well as open-plan studios for workshops and symposia were created. The workshops now offer technical and mechanical equipment that is rarely carried by the public and can be made accessible. Artists from all over the world use these opportunities for work stays in Erfurt, as do local and regional actors who are instructed and experienced in using the equipment.

However, the technical equipment is so broad and deep that the workshops cannot easily be made available to everyone without instructions. The aim, however, is to ensure the broadest possible accessibility to the workshops. That’s why the artists’ workshops, together with the “Werkhaus Inklusion” of the Platform e. V. on July 26th and August 9th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., for the future workshop in the artists' workshops (Nordhäuserstr. 81/81a).

The aim here is to collect ideas together, identify opportunities, define boundaries and find ways to make the artists' workshops in the city of Erfurt more accessible and public. This should lead to more intensive integration with the art-interested urban society. In addition to regular use by experienced artists, the workshops should be made known and accessible to broader user groups. These include institutions, educational institutions, individual initiatives, clubs and people who want to contribute their knowledge and experience and expand the possibilities of the artists' workshops.

The “Werkhaus Inclusion” team will moderate and accompany the dialogue. Anyone who would like to have a say when it comes to the future of artists' workshops can register by email to kontakt@werkhausinklusion.de . A confirmation of participation in the future workshop will be sent by July 22nd.
