The Office for Building Management will soon begin the renovation of the upper retaining wall of the “Gabriel” bastion. The retaining wall is at risk of collapsing due to age and needs to be replaced due to its instability. According to the current status, the costs for renovating the retaining wall amount to around 580,000 euros.

First, the masonry is removed in sections, replaced with a nail wall and then covered again with natural stone material. After the structurally necessary safety measures and anchoring have been installed, the entire masonry surface is repointed.

There may be temporary restrictions during the construction period. Residents and road users are asked to understand the necessary work and the inconvenience this will cause. Completion of the work is scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2025.
