Road traffic restrictions

Erfurt has another concert-packed few days ahead of it in the last week of June and first week of July. In the evening hours of June 28th and 29th and July 6th, Roland Kaiser, Peter Maffay and Clueso will be on the cathedral square. Several thousand visitors are expected.

As usual, for these events, for reasons of traffic safety, the cathedral square must be expected to be closed from the level of Pergamentergasse and in front of the regional court. If there is a risk of overcrowding on Andreasstrasse during arrival traffic, there will also be a closure in the direction of Domplatz. The decisive factor is the situation on the respective evening. Security bodies and organizers will decide on this depending on the situation.

If there was a closure, the Lange Brücke, Paulstrasse, Kettenstrasse and Predigerstrasse districts, among others, would only be accessible via the government road during the concerts. The bollard on Meister-Eckehart-Straße would then be lowered for the duration of the closures.

It can be assumed that the capacities of the existing parking garages, especially the parking garage on Domplatz, will quickly be exhausted. We therefore strongly recommend that you use the P+R parking spaces and travel to Domplatz by tram or bus. The admission ticket to the concert is also valid as a public transport ticket in the Erfurt city area.

For many Erfurt residents, the city center can be easily reached on foot or, weather permitting, by bike. For this purpose, the city of Erfurt will set up additional bicycle racks in the area in front of the regional court and on Cathedral Square.
