The Erfurt Oktoberfest
It's not just in Munich that people celebrate heartily
hustle and bustle and beer tent atmosphere on the cathedral square
Every autumn, the Erfurt Oktoberfest attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the heart of Erfurt. Here on the cathedral square there is a large beer tent next to a number of cool rides from the end of September to the beginning of October.
In 2023, the colorful party will take place from September 22nd to October 8th. In addition to the “Bellevue”, one of the largest transportable Ferris wheels in the world with enclosed gondolas, ghost trains, bumper cars and many other rides attract visitors to Cathedral Square. Of course there is enough to eat and drink, the pint of beer is cheaper here in Erfurt than at the Munich Oktoberfest. Bratwurst, punch, beer and many sweet treats are available, as well as candied fruit, roasted hazelnuts and fish sandwiches. The littlest guests get glowing eyes on one of the carousels.

When will Oktoberfest 2023 take place?
This year the festival starts on September 22nd. The graduation is on October 8, 2023.
When is family day?
Every Wednesday is family day: the approximately 50 showman's shops attract visitors with significantly reduced prices.
What are the opening times?
Oktoberfest opens Monday to Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday is open until 11 p.m. On weekends the festival starts at 11 a.m. On Saturday it's open until 11 p.m., on Sunday the hammer falls at 10 p.m. - after all, work starts again on Monday! There will be a special regulation in 2023: Because of the public holiday, there will be special opening times on October 2nd and 3rd. Open on October 2nd from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; on October 3rd from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
