Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Jens Martin Kittner will take over the departments of gastroenterology/
hepatology, endocrinology/diabetology and rheumatology

Jens Kittner is a specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology with an additional qualification
in infectious diseases. He completed additional studies to obtain a Master of Health Business Administration.
His clinical focus is on gastroenterological endoscopy, the treatment
of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases and hepatology.
“We are pleased to be
bringing Jens Kittner, not only an experienced physician with broad clinical experience to Erfurt, but also a humanely competent manager of this
important internal medicine department,” said the medical director, Prof. Dr. Henry V Groesdonk.
His clinical beginnings go back to rheumatology, in which Kittner
received his doctorate at the Hanover Medical School. He completed his habilitation on a hepatological topic
at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and became a senior physician there.
He spent three more years at the Darmstadt Clinic, a maximum care facility,
and then spent three years as chief physician of an internal medicine-gastroenterology
department in a hospital in Saarland.
Priv.-Doz. Dr. Jens Kittner is a member of the German Society for Internal Medicine (DGIM),
Infectiology (DGI) and the Gastroenterological Society (DGVS). In addition to numerous
publications, he has published a book on “Gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary infections
