LPI-EF: Aluminum stolen in broad daylight

Erfurt (ots)

On August 23, 2024 at around 9:45 a.m., officials from the Erfurt South inspection service were informed by an alert citizen that a person in the Liebknechtstrasse area was loading cables from an empty building onto a trolley. The officers deployed found a man who, without any sense of guilt, was removing aluminum cables from the empty building and placing them on a trolley that had been carried specifically for this purpose. When the officers saw him, the person fled, but was caught a short time later. In addition to the light metal that was provided and did not belong to him, narcotics were found on the person. The man was subsequently taken to the police station. Here the man, who is currently difficult to reach by post, was handed over papers from the court. After the public prosecutor's office was informed of the situation and the man's postal address was provided, the man was released. The man had previously received a norm-clarifying conversation in which the difference between his property and that of others had to be explained to him. The police are now investigating the person because of the particularly serious case of theft and unlawful possession of narcotics.(MK)
