After intensive renovation and renovation work in recent months, the “Renne” youth center in the north of Erfurt on Moscower Platz is presented in new splendor.

“The young people can find a new home here in the next few days after the last remaining work has been completed by the provider,” says Arne Ott, head of the building management office. The youth center is run by the Mitmensch e.V. association. v.

As a result of the work, the youth center directly on the Auenteich was significantly upgraded: the heating and electrical systems as well as the sanitary area were completely renovated. In addition, flooring and painting work was also carried out. The city invested a total of around 200,000 euros in the renovation and renovation work.

The rooms were not only brought up to date, but also adapted to the needs and wishes of the young visitors. The focus was on creating a diverse environment that offers space for games, sports, music, creativity and social interaction.

The Renne youth center offers opportunities for the age group 6 to 27, space to talk and find solutions as well as support with questions and uncertainties from the social educators. These also support the children and young people with their homework or applications.

“Users can actively participate in the design of the youth center and contribute their own ideas for offerings. For example, this weekend's intergenerational circus project funded by the State Program for Solidarity Cooperation (LSZ). A great thing,” says the responsible mayor, Anke Hofmann-Domke. At the opening, she was pleased with the furnishings of the rooms and called on the children and young people to make active use of the offers and also to accept the local social workers as confidants.

Circus educators from the Tasifan circus from Weimar teach the participants their circus skills over three days. At the same time, this project promotes the expansion of further joint projects and collaborations between youth centers in Erfurt. Next Sunday the children will present what they have learned in the youth center.
