April in the Japanese Garden

Cherry blossoms and buzzing bees in the Japanese Garden in egapark

Erfurt's egapark is known far beyond the city's borders - and not just since BUGA 2021. Nevertheless, it has a few hidden gems to offer on its huge grounds. The Japanese Garden on the northern slope of the ega site is such a treasure. Its very special beauty is particularly evident throughout the year in April, especially when the cherry trees are in full bloom.

Thousands of cherry blossoms in white and pink transform the rocky path through the small magical garden into a fragrant and humming paradise. The bees have known this place for a long time and are probably already behind their entrance holes on April 1st ready to collect cherry nectar. Catching bees in flight for a photo is a difficult undertaking. The little honey pioneers just don't want to keep still!

Our tip for beautiful spring days: Simply climb down the stairs, stroll across the bridge and sit next to the Zen garden. This is pure relaxation!
