Every summer the swimming pools are serviced and thoroughly cleaned after a long indoor season. The work will be carried out in the Roland Matthes swimming pool from July 10th to 31st. The Johannesplatz swimming pool has been under treatment since June 20th and will continue until July 31st.

During the shutdown, the swimming pools and bathing pools are drained and thoroughly cleaned, including the surge water tanks in the basement. A lot of dirt accumulates in the splash water tanks over the course of a year.
In addition, the swimming pool technology is maintained and defective or worn fittings are repaired. In the showers of the sauna area of the Roland Matthes swimming pool, the silicone joints are being renewed and various painting work is being carried out in frequently frequented areas. Intensive basic cleaning of all areas takes place in both halls.
We recommend that bathers alternatively use the Nordbad with its heated sports pool and the Stotternheim lido when the swimming pools are closed. For sporty swimmers, the Nordbad with its 50-meter pool offers the best conditions.
