The nuns' alley

Nonnengasse is one of the less frequented places in Erfurt's old town.

One reason: Anyone who moves around the old town simply won't find a reason to go down this alley

to use to get from A to B. Plus it's hard to find. The access from the Long Bridge is quite inconspicuous

and there is no compelling reason to enter Nonnengasse from Paulstrasse either.

Anyone who does it anyway will get to know a beautiful place in the beautiful old town of Erfurt.

The centerpiece is the Nonnenstieg over the Bergstrom

with its medieval-looking access to the water.

Finally, it is the view from there and the peace and quiet in the middle of the old town that makes Nonnengasse a favorite place in Erfurt:
