The Jagdberg tunnel on the A 4 near Jena had to be completely closed on Wednesday morning after a technical defect. Maintenance work on the tunnel technology had taken place during the night, which resulted in a failure of the lighting and other systems following problems. The plan is to escort traffic through the tunnel for blocks with police. Drivers should avoid the area as far as possible via the A 71 / A 38. Due to the closure of the B 7 between Jena and Umpferstedt, massive traffic disruptions are expected in the morning.
