Yesterday, Saturday morning, an emergency call from the Thuringia motorway police reported that a Lithuanian tractor-trailer was said to have lost its semi-trailer on the A 4 in the direction of Frankfurt aM, after the AS Wandersleben. A patrol found a logistics company's separated tractor-trailer on the hard shoulder. After the semi-trailer could be temporarily attached again, the police escorted it to the Schwabhausen truck stop on AS Gotha. Since the reason for the loss of the semi-trailer could not be conclusively determined on site, a Dekra branch was visited on Saturday morning to inspect the semi-trailer for possible technical defects. As part of the technical investigation, it was determined that one of two securing elements on the fifth wheel plate was defective, which meant that the semi-trailer was able to come loose. In addition, as part of the personal and vehicle check, it was discovered that the short-term registration of the Lithuanian MAN tractor had expired. The 33-year-old Belarusian driver had to pay a security deposit of 315 euros on site. Further travel was prohibited on site until the two deficiencies mentioned were remedied.
