In the heart of Erfurt, life pulsates in a very special way every summer. The cathedral square, surrounded by historical architecture and the impressive cathedral, provides the stage for a musical journey that is hard to beat in its diversity. Shortly after the gigantic backdrop of the cathedral stage festival has been dismantled, the next technicians arrive. A hustle and bustle begins that will transform the square again in just a few hours. Also come on the
Massive trusses are raised and form the basic framework of the stage, which appears almost futuristic in the shadow of the imposing Erfurt Cathedral. Spotlights and spotlights are positioned, ready to later bathe the stage in a luminous spectacle. Line arrays hanging on the trusses and special loudspeaker systems promise a powerful sound that will soon fill the entire square again. There is space on the stage for monitors, microphone stands and an impressive drum platform. Amplifiers are carefully aligned and connected to the numerous cables that snake across the stage floor.
A central mixing console is set up from which sound engineers will later fine-tune the sound. After hours of intensive work, the cathedral square is ready for the next music spectacle.

From hits to techno – the concerts
The 2024 program shows all the diversity that is possible here in just a few weekends. The Schlager fans flock to Roland Kaiser , the uncrowned emperor of German Schlager. Just one day later, Peter Maffay the cathedral square. Then, on July 6, 2024, Erfurt's favorite artist Clueso his home audience once again. The highlight: Clueso
The absolute highlight of the month is without a doubt the Clueso concert on July 6th. As a native of Erfurt, Clueso has a special connection to this city and his performances on Cathedral Square are always something very special. With his emotional lyrics, his unmistakable voice, and his good mood, he captivated the visitors. Of course, one or two well-known guest musicians also take part on stage. The Erfurt shows are always an impressive home game for the artist and an unforgettable experience for the fans.
In summary, the summer concerts on the cathedral square in Erfurt are always a music festival of superlatives. No matter whether you are a hit, pop or rock fan. There is something for every taste.
A musical summer that the city will not soon forget. And of course we are looking forward to the Domplatz concerts in 2025.

In our video treasure chest we have found something very special for Clueso fans: an interview with Clueso from 1998. The conversation was conducted by the moderator Carsten Rose (Radio Frei) and it took place at the Breakbeat Night in Kufa Waltershausen in 1998 recorded. The still young artist speaks confidently about MCs and hip hop, which back then was still very far removed from today's ballads. He was already determined back then.
