An incoming flight from Antalya was handled at Erfurt-Weimar Airport shortly after midnight. This also includes border police entry checks on passengers.
A 26-year-old Ukrainian citizen identified himself to a federal police officer using his passport. The man was unable to comment on his intentions to stay, which is why a detailed entry check was carried out.
During a survey, it became clear that the 26-year-old had no intention of traveling as a tourist. He expressed a request for asylum to the federal police and also gave reasons for fleeing his home country.
After federal police had completed the checks and interviews, the man was forwarded to a reception center for refugees.
